Tommie Thompson lives on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, he migrated to Jackson County in 1982, where he served as an addiction treatment specialist. After retiring in 2002, his keen interest in the human condition led him to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer.

     Out of his deep-seeded passion for writing arose the need to draw his readers into the world of each character he develops. His goal is to bond you so deeply that you feel every emotion that we as humans experience on a daily basis… laughter, tears, sadness, loneliness and joy.

His first novel, A Taste of Freedom, was born through his desire to tell the story of slaves who fought for the Confederacy. Using a non-judgmental approach, he penned a story that simply warms your heart.

      His second novel, The Hair of the Dog, is a no holds barred trip through the world of an alcoholic who’s lost everything except his desire to overcome his degrading circumstances. This wild trip through the main character Dusty’s life was written not only to educate, but to leave you breathless.

      At the request of many loyal readers, Tommie is currently working on a sequel to, A Taste of Freedom.
